Prague – After three and a half months, the inhabitants and visitors of Prague, as in most of the republic, were able to put away the veils in trams, buses and trains, in shops and service establishments or in offices. Despite the release, some people voluntarily continue to wear veils in public, according to the findings of ČTK reporters. Covering your mouth and nose due to the spread of covid-19 is still mandatory in the metropolis on the subway and at larger events inside buildings, as well as in hospitals and social institutions.

Václav Havel Airport, a transport company, train or bus carriers and other institutions recommend passengers to protect their respiratory tract. Hygienists encourage people not to forget to wash their hands thoroughly, keep their distances and be considerate of others in case of signs of respiratory disease.

The Prague transport company on its own the web states that while in all areas of the metro veils are still mandatory, in means of surface transport, ie in buses, trams or on the cable car, no longer from 1 July. “Nevertheless, the Transport Company of the Capital City of Prague recommends wearing them with regard to mutual consideration and safety of passengers and drivers,” the carrier wrote. Passengers and the international airport in Ruzyně are encouraged to wear drapes in all areas, to observe safe distances and to observe hand hygiene.

In trains and buses, carriers no longer require veils, they will only recommend their use to passengers. For some carriers, the staff will keep them, for example, Leo Express wants to do so. The areas in the Karviná and Frýdek-Místek regions, which are at risk, remain an exception even after the rules on the wearing of veils have been relaxed. Veils are still mandatory in public transport, so passengers will have to put them on again when leaving the station, which will be the last before entering the high-risk districts. Czech Railways updated information leaflets because of this. Veils are also mandatory in some neighboring countries, so carriers will continue to require them when traveling through Slovakia, for example.

In one of the morning trains from Beroun to Prague, only individuals had their mouths and noses covered, and the guide put down the veil. However, before entering the underground railway in Smíchov, people put on their mouthpieces in accordance with the valid rules. But only some of them already had them in trams or public transport buses.

Even in shopping centers, the obligation of covered mouths and noses no longer applies from today, yet in the morning, for example, in the Černý Most Center, several people put on a veil at the entrance to the passage. In the morning, stickers calling for veils disappeared from the entrances to the Westfield Chodov shopping center, and many people, younger and older, still had nose and mouth protection.

As of today, Prague restaurants, cafes or bars are also returning to the state before the coronavirus pandemic, which may be open even after 23:00. People can also consume snacks, for example, in cinema auditoriums.

In the Moravian-Silesian Region, participants in internal mass events of more than 100 people or hairdressers and masseurs must have veils. In the Karviná and Frýdek-Místek regions, where coronavirus has been the most widespread in recent weeks, drapes are mandatory in all non-residential buildings and in public transport. Due to the epidemiological situation, visits to retirement homes and medical facilities are still prohibited in these districts, and new clients must have a negative test. The local restaurants must be closed from 23:00 until 08:00, but they can sell through the window.
