On Saturday, the traffic police checked a vehicle type light cargo on the Noorderlaan. The maximum permissible weight (3.5 tons) was exceeded, the vehicle weighed no less than 8.1 tons! Since it was a foreign vehicle (Netherlands), the driver had to pay the fine on the spot. The 6 400 euros was paid in cash (!). The surplus cargo had to be unloaded and collected on site.
