Kuwait City: 35,000 violations were found in one week during vehicle inspection. 60 drivers were arrested for reckless driving, 81 vehicles and 33 motorcycles were impounded and taken to the ministry garage. 73 minors were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for minors for driving without a license.
Major Abdullah Buhasan, a spokesman for the Department of General Traffic, said that in addition to the patrol from the Department of Traffic Operations and the Department of Traffic Investigation, the inspection was also attended by traffic patrols from six governorates.
He also said that 4,291 traffic accidents were detected during the patrol of the General Department of Traffic in the past week. 239 major accidents and 1233 minor accidents were reported. During the investigation, one person was arrested for drug possession. For days in the country there have been strict checks on vehicles to catch offenders.
