The update applies to the Smart 4K Box TV set-top box. We are carrying out the first tests this week. The rollout, provided the tests are successful, is expected to reach customers in tranches starting next week – informs Wirtualnemedia.pl Justyna Grzelak, Vectra PR coordinator.

What changes will the new software bring?

A cable network representative reveals that the program guide (EPG) will change. It should be clear, legible and easy to use. It will allow you to move between the days and then use the catch-up TV function (playback of programs already broadcast). In the next few days you will also be able to check the TV program. The operator intends to facilitate navigation (thanks to the possibility of selecting the thematic category on the top bar of the screen). Information about the selected production should be presented in the lower program information bar. You will be able to access the EPG from the main menu of the decoder.

Set-top boxes must be launched on TV channels. Previously, you had to select the appropriate tile in the main menu. Thanks to this function, it is easier to start watching and, in addition, the decoder will remember the last program viewed and start on it. The “back” button, used for example in the main menu, allows you to go back to the last viewed TV channel. Selecting the “back” button while watching TV takes you back to the previously viewed program (plays the last two channels in loop).
