[디지털데일리 양민하 기자] As the global automobile industry is rapidly transitioning to ‘software-defined vehicles (SDVs),’ Vector Korea is responding to changes in the vehicle software development environment by announcing an electronic control unit (ECU) virtualization solution that supports improved development efficiency and cost reduction. there is.

On the 30th, Vector Korea announced ‘vVirtualtarget’ and ‘vHypervisor’, software development solutions that meet the complex requirements of SDV and maximize development efficiency.

vVirtual Target increases productivity and shortens the software development period with a virtual electronic control unit (ECU) without physical hardware. This allows developers to run and test ECU software in a virtual environment from the beginning of software development, dramatically reducing development time and enabling powerful simulation from the early stages.

A Vector Korea official said, “Vector Korea is focused on solving the major challenges faced by our customers in the SDV environment. In particular, vVirtual Target and vHypervisor make the software development process less dependent on physical hardware, reducing the development time. “It shortens the process and provides cost savings,” he explained.

The vHypervisor, which was also announced, supports integrated execution of multiple operating systems and applications on one ECU. MICROSAR vHypervisor can run multiple virtual machines in parallel on a single ECU, and each machine is thoroughly isolated to ensure security and stability.

A Vector Korea official explained, “These strategic tools play an important role in accelerating the transformation of SDVs and enable the development of highly complex vehicle software to be managed more safely and efficiently.”

Jang Ji-hwan, branch manager of Vector Korea, said, “Today, as automotive systems become more complex and development periods become shorter, innovative tools are needed to stay ahead of the competition.” He added, “Vector’s vVirtualTarget MICROSAR vHypervisor virtualization solution optimizes ECU projects and , a powerful tool that increases speed and enhances security.”

Director Jang added, “With Vector’s virtualization solution that supports more efficient and safer vehicle development, we will be able to see new possibilities and innovations in vehicle development.”
