In honor of this event, “Vecās mājes” has reunited in the golden core, in which Uģis Prauliņš (voice, keyboard instruments), Armands Alksnis (guitar), Andris Alviķis (bass guitar) and Tālis Gžibovskis (percussion instruments) have been playing music together since 1989. This happened in honor of the band’s first album, which collects recordings made between 1989 and 1992, and which was released on vinyl in September 2023.
Uģ Prauliņš’s elaborate, technically complex compositions with the poetry of Latvian classics reflect the ideals of the composer’s own youth and references to the samples of the western progressive rock groups “Jethro Tull”, “King Crimson”, “Yes” and “Genesis” from the 70s of the 20th century.

The “Vecās mājas” reunion concert will feature the full concert program of the “Liepājas dzintars ’89” festival: compositions “Kurzeme”, “Ai, zeme, kūpošāsa”, “Par vádás”, “Uz páměs”, “Dedication” and other songs during the band’s performance created compositions.
Even today, the group “Vecās majes” has retained its importance and relevance, which is largely associated with the program of the “Liepājas dzintars ’89” festival. Telling about the two greatest sources of human passions – nature and love -, the festival program was permeated with motifs typical of Latvian folk music and mentality, which became one of the biggest surprises of “Liepājas dzintars ’89” and contributed to the group’s popularity during the revival, in addition, the group won 3 .place.
