Die Fakuma offers a practical and international industry meeting place for companies that work in the broad field of industrial plastics processing. Whether extrusion technology, thermoforming or 3D printing – the trade fair on Lake Constance shows the topic of plastics in all its facets in the range of exhibiting companies. VDWF, the Association of German Tool and Mould Makersis again represented this year with a joint stand on which 63 companies are presenting themselves – on an area 120 square meters larger than last year, as the VDWF was able to take over adjacent areas of neighboring stands.

The exhibitors include not only tool and mold making companies, but also suppliers, design offices, software providers and service providers for measurement technology, surface treatment and EDM technology, as well as research institutions and educational institutions – including the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences with its VDWF-supported degree programs for the toolmaking and plastics industry. “Everyone is looking forward to the trade fair and is excited to present their innovations and know-how to interested visitors,” emphasizes VDWF Managing Director Ralf Dürrwächter. The association’s organization team is also certain that getting together with colleagues will enable many enriching discussions – even after the official end of the trade fair, when the VDWF stand becomes an informal industry meeting place.

“This year, we are once again inviting trainees to take a tour of the trade fair on October 15 and 16,” says VDWF Managing Director Ralf Dürrwächter. The tours take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and are aimed at interested trainees and teachers who would like to think outside the box. The start and end point is the VDWF joint stand, where all participants can also enjoy “healthy food,” promises Dürrwächter. On the evening of the second day of the trade fair, the VDWF is once again inviting people to its traditional stand festival. Ralf Dürrwächter: “Networking is much easier with live music, good food and cold drinks.”
