Due to the corona pandemic, the VDMA plastics and rubber machines has canceled participation in the German pavilion at Plastico Brasil 20201.
The VDMA Plastic and Rubber Machinery Association has canceled its participation in the joint stand at the Plastico Brasil in Sao Paulo for this year in coordination with the European partner associations merged in Euromap and the trade fair organizer. The reason for this is the strong spread of the corona pandemic in Brazil. The decision has no influence on the trade fair participation of individual companies.
Postponing to November is also not suitable
The trade fair organizer had previously postponed the date for the trade fair by six months and moved it to November 2021. However, from today’s perspective, this date is not suitable, according to the assessment of the professional association, to hold an international trade fair in a country severely affected by the corona pandemic.
Brazil is the most important South American market for the German plastics and rubber engineering industry. Many German manufacturers have local branches and are actively involved in the international community through the VDMA office in Sao Paulo.
2019 successful participation at the Plastico Brasil
In order to strengthen the “Made in Germany” brand locally, the German mechanical engineering association VDMA applied for an official German joint participation at the plastics trade fair Plastico Brasil in Sao Paulo for the first time in 2019. Participation in the trade fair in March 2019, including the VDMA involvement in the form of a symposium, was a complete success, which the VDMA will build on as soon as the pandemic on site allows it again.
