VC Lucéen in Vendée, C’Chartres Cycling package

VC Lucéen starts his season in the Coupe de France with a 41 km team time trial.

Last year, Christian Fulbert’s team won the title of French N3 champion by playing only one round, the rest of the season having been canceled due to the pandemic. This result was obtained thanks to the 2nd and 4th places respectively of Mathieu Urbain and Thomas Philippe (the latter left the team).

Mathieu Urbain in legs

For this Vendée meeting, the VCL prepared itself in particular by lining up last Monday at the Critérium d’Artenay, where we again saw an Urban very leggy, not hesitating to start from the first kilometer and by doing the race leads for more than 40 terminals.

60 penalty points for Chartres
Following a covid case detected seven days ago on one of its unvaccinated riders, the C’Chartres Cycling is unable to compete in the 3rd round of the Coupe de France, today, in Thorigny. “As all our runners are in contact, we had to forfeit and we will take a penalty of 60 points”, confided last night the sporting director of C’Chartres, Antonin Dauriannes. Fortunately for the club, there is no downhill this season. DS Chartrain however hopes that he will be able to field a team for the 4th round of the Coupe de France, the Tour du Périgord, which will take place in a week, on Sunday 29 August.
Classification N2 (after 3 rounds). 1. Paris CO 127 pts; Nice Métropole 89 pts; 3. Team Restauration-Louault 80 pts; … 6. CC Périgueux 65 pts … 17. C’Chartres Cycling 5 pts; 18. VCA St-Quentin 4 pts; 19. Martigues and VS Vallet 0 pt.
