VBC. At the opponent’s request, VBC Einsiedeln met TV Lunkhofen this Wednesday and not on Saturday as planned. Like two weeks ago against Winterthur, the Einsiedler played against TV Lunkhofen for the third time this season. But unlike the game against Winterthur, they won against Lunkhofen in the first half of the season and in the cup. That’s why we went into this game as clear favorites.
VBC Einsiedeln was able to start the game as desired and showed their role as favorites right from the start. TV Lunkhofen had to react with a time-out when the score was 7:2.
The time-out had an effect and Lunkhofen found its way into the game. However, TV Lunkhofen’s up-and-coming phase was only short-lived. Einsiedeln continued to dominate, so Lunkhofen had to use the second time-out when the score was 16:9. This time the time-out was of no use. Einsiedeln continued to score points until the score was 20:9. Lunkhofen was no longer able to react decisively. Einsiedeln clearly won the first set 25:15.
Unnecessary errors
At the beginning of the second set, Lunkhofen was able to keep up with Einsiedeln. But after a short time, Einsiedeln was able to break away again. Lunkhofen responded again with an early time-out at 11:5. The opponent had no chance at this point. The second set seemed already over. But unexpectedly, Einsiedeln made a few unnecessary mistakes against the course of the game, which gave Lunkhofen a little hope again. Suddenly TV Lunkhofen made its sideout points again. In addition, there were two or three critical decisions by the referee that went in Lunkhofen’s favor. But Einsiedeln’s big lead was finally enough to tie the set at 25:22.
In the third set, Lunkhofen had to keep the momentum from the end of the second set for themselves. This also succeeded and they were able to take the lead for the first time with a score of 0:3.
At this moment it was important for VBC Einsiedeln to regain the looseness of the first one and a half sentences. Einsiedeln was able to catch up and catch up and overtake the deficit. The new score was 11:8 for Einsiedeln. Lunkhofen then took a time-out.
As a result, a balanced game developed with some longer rallies. Shortly before the end of the set, Einsiedeln was able to increase the level again and thus win decisive rallies. They won the third set and therefore also won the match superiorly and deservedly. See results.
