We know that the stage is their kingdom… At the King Arthur festival, in Bréal-sous-Montfort near Rennes, neither Hervé nor Shaka Ponk could disappoint. They were huge…
A fiery concert, as expected, for Shaka Ponk, with a show as visual as it is musical, behind their tireless singer Frah, who never stopped reviving a melting audience, Saturday evening, rebellious in his words, militant of the planet and Breton at heart: ” My beloved Brittany ” he said several times.
Brittany, the singer Hervé also has it in his skin. He said it over and over again. Just three musicians (including a guitarist from Rennes) to accompany him but what energy deployed throughout his concert. Hervé is unique, that’s why we love him!

We also liked the elegant melodies of the British group Archive, the dance music of Stratijenn, the sensual electro-world of Johan Papaconstantino, while the rapper Hamza easily took the younger audience into his world and we were waiting for Mika, late, last night.
Further on, in Mayenne…
But at Roi Arthur – sold out again this year (60,000 paying entries) – we also really like the festive atmosphere of a festival that knows how to welcome. With in particular a “kouign zone” – like a festival within the festival – entrusted this year to the Norman collective “Les moutons électriques”, full of music, games, entertainment and above all laughter.
In Mayenne, the V and B Fest’ had announced an edition of « consolidation ». The festival, created by the chain of wine cellars and bars based in Château-Gontier, has the luxury of doing better and has reached 108,000 paying entries (105,000 last year) in its fourth edition.
Although the heavy rains on Saturday gave the organizers a good cold sweat, there were no cancellations or evacuations to report. As for the lineup, headliners Martin Solveig, Phoenix (very very wet but successful), PLK, Santa, Zaho de Sagazan and Jain won over the audience, from grandparents to grandchildren. Slimane was particularly unanimous.
Note the beautiful osmosis with the public for the reggae duo Jahneration who perfectly master the art of making the crowd jump… We also remember the beautiful generosity of MC Solaar and his musicians. Rap, groove and hits for the greatest happiness of the crowd.
For next year, the V and B Fest’ is determined “to continue to grow”. And should once again give itself the means to do so. In 2024, the budget has increased from 9 to almost 11 million euros.
