The toll continues to grow. At the last count, Sunday, 147 deaths were attributed to the virus in the canton of Vaud. A large majority of the victims are over 75 years of age. Now, deaths from Covid-19 are more frequent in medico-social establishments (EMS) than in hospitals. “But almost half of the people hospitalized in intensive care are under the age of 65, 30 to 40% of whom have no risk factor,” said cantonal doctor Karim Boubaker.

Almost all of the figures for the course of the epidemic are still increasing. But the number of hospitalizations has stabilized over the past ten days. “This is important data, says the cantonal doctor. With a week of hindsight, we can say that our health system is still protected. ” For now, the wave seems to have been contained. The fear of seeing our hospitals submerged is fading away.
