In accordance with the decision of the Federal Council on Wednesday, the canton of Vaud reduces the duration of contact quarantine and isolation measures to five days from this Thursday. This change also applies to ongoing quarantines and isolations, political and health authorities said.
Those affected are released from quarantine after five full days, provided they have not developed symptoms. People placed in isolation before January 13 are released from this measure after five days and if they have not shown symptoms for 48 hours, according to the decision of the Office of the cantonal doctor.
The quarantine letter already received from the Cantonal Doctor’s Office defines the first day to count down the five days of quarantine, underlines the canton. This document is also authentic with employers to determine the daily allowances to which employees can claim due to the quarantine measure carried out, he specifies.
Quarantine and isolation measures can also be adapted for “a whole range of areas of activity of great importance to society”. These people may even qualify for an automatic exemption from quarantine.
