VATICAN, KOMPAS.TV – The Vatican has finally revealed that it owns more than 5,000 property assets worldwide.
The disclosure was made by the Vatican, Saturday (24/7/2021), after the financial scandal that plagued the Catholic holy city.
Quoted from German waveThe Holy See’s Heritage Administration (APSA), which deals with property and investment in the Vatican, in its 2020 budget showed the Vatican has 4,051 properties in Italy.
In addition, they also own 1,120 properties worldwide including London, Paris, Geneva and Lausanne.

The disclosure move comes ahead of a trial due to open at the Vatican next week, involving an investment deal that went wrong.
Ten people have been charged with financial crimes, including prominent Cardinal Angelo Baciu.
They are alleged to have committed extortion, departmental abuse, as well as fraud.
The charges relate to an investment of 350 million euros (Rp 5.9 trillion) with a London real estate company.
