Georgi Gvozdeikov will be excluded from the PP, as he remains as transport minister
The president will issue decrees on Tuesday to hold a two-in-one election on June 9
The future caretaker prime minister Dimitar Glavchev read today in the Presidency in front of President Rumen Radev and representatives of the political formations represented in parliament the composition and structure of his proposed cabinet.
The name of Kalin Stoyanov, who has been proposed to continue his term as interior minister, caused particular excitement in the hall.
Of the remaining names, those who remain in their posts are Kiril Vatev as Minister of Agriculture, Georgi Gvozdeikov as Minister of Transport and Communications and Prof. Galin Tsokov as Minister of Education.
After the composition of the future government was read out, the co-chairman of Continuing the Change, Kiril Petkov, was the first to speak.
He stated that with the name of Kalin Stoyanov, the main goal of the caretaker government was compromised – to guarantee fair elections and to limit vote buying as much as possible. According to Kiril Petkov, the inclusion of the current MIA chief in the future cabinet is an insult and “absolute political audacity”.
Kiril Petkov also stated that Mundrov’s candidacy for Minister of e-Government is strongly politicized and carries the real danger that the elections will once again be held with a paper ballot.
Maria Pavlova as Minister of Justice is also an “insult” as she is Borislav Sarafov’s deputy.
Kiril Petkov also said that the previous day he had a long conversation with Georgi Gvozdeikov, who is a member of the PP. Gvozdeikov was warned that if he remained in Dimitar Glavchev’s government, he would be expelled from the party.
After these words, the PP-DB group announced that they were leaving.
She was stopped by the president, who said that the parties could talk to Dimitar Glavchev about the composition of the government in the next two days. Rumen Radev announced that he intends to issue three decrees on Tuesday – for the appointment of Glavchev’s office, for holding the European elections and the parliamentary elections on one date – June 9.
Tomislav Donchev from GERB-SDS expressed hope that fair elections will be organized and the almost 3-year spasm in the state will end. He said he hoped that after the elections, a more constructive mode would emerge, beyond the confrontation between political forces, to find the formula that would allow with more agreement and wisdom to achieve a focus on results for the good.
Yordan Tsonev from DPS stated that the party respects the choice made by Dimitar Glavchev.
Kostadin Kostadinov said that he sees at first glance a well-balanced cabinet.
Toshko Yordanov called the consultation a demonstration of senselessness.
