VAT reduction compensates for high energy rates with a variable contract

If an average Flemish family with an average consumption takes out a new energy contract this month, the estimated energy bill is at its highest level ever. This is apparent from the monthly update of the Flemish energy regulator Vreg. By choosing a variable contract, this does not automatically result in record settlements.
