The Revenue Agency is ready to send compliance letters as for the annual VAT return relating to the 2020 tax year. In practice, this is a notice addressed to those who have not sent this return or have submitted it incomplete, not filling in the field of active operations (VE).

These communications, we remind you, are sent following some checks carried out on the data of the electronic invoices, of the telematic payments and of the esterometer. Interested parties will receive such communications from their own digital home. But not only that, they will also be available in the “Fiscal drawer” staff on the Revenue Agency website.

According to what can be seen from the provision of 30 June 2021, therefore, the tax authorities are ready to carry out checks on VAT numbers. Taxpayers who will receive this communication will therefore be able to verify their position. In case of non-transmission, therefore, they will have to to comply with industrious repentance.

Going into the details, in the event of an omitted VAT return, the interested parties will have time until July 29, 2021, or within 90 days of the ordinary deadline of April 30, to comply. If, on the other hand, the 2021 VAT return has been presented, but without completing the framework VE, it is possible to correct errors or omissions within the expiry of the assessment deadlines.
