It is a necessary effort, it is a constitutional provision and it is a constitutional duty for all of us to do that.
That is why the average reservist, or those who have done military service or had military training, are now over 50 years old.
The last youngest reservist, so to speak, to join the army until 2006, when his compulsory military service was abolished, is now 38 years old. He is out of the age of incorporation which is between 18-35 years old at this time of the law.
So we’re going to have to make a law. I have a project that has been passed on to my colleagues in the other ministries who are in the area of public security and defense.
So we have a project almost finished. I will probably make it transparent in two weeks because I think we need to review the law and we already have 1,400 applications for volunteers to choose from.
We have thought together with the General Staff that in the future we will bring in the area of volunteering around 10,000 reservists to complete the reserve from this moment that we have.
In terms of incorporation, you will not be able to incorporate someone who has not done military service. People can rest easy. We have an active quality reserve.
We want to pay in the volunteer area. We have created very good conditions for those who agree to come in this field and I think it will be a very important outlet for young people. We have very good reactions on social networks from young people who want to start a military internship.
The preparation will not be concentrated, it will be 3-4 months maximum. During that time he will be paid a sum depending on the degree. It can cost around 3,000 lei / month.
