Vasil Bozhkov is making a new political project. This was found out thanks to a police operation in his offices, including on Moskovska Street, where he is under house arrest. The accused businessman appeared in front of the journalists on the street and shared the plans, while inside and at 2 other addresses in Sofia, there was an increased police presence.
The action is related to the investigation into the murder of Alexei Petrov, the Ministry of the Interior announced later.
“There is no Alexey Petrov. They were looking for documents in an old case for companies that have been transferred to another person. They will question Bozhkov as a witness,” said his lawyer Georgi Gatev, who attended the search.
Petrov was killed on August 16 in the forest above Dragalevtsi quarter. Bozhkov is accused of being the guarantor of another assassination attempt against him – in 2017, when they shot at the car of the former beret with a grenade launcher. The investigation started 3 years ago and is still not over. It is part of the so-called criminal case against Bozhkov for underwriting several murders. The other is the gambling case for unpaid fees, for which he is under house arrest.
“I have no relationship with Petrov, no joint business – nothing. I have said it many times,” Bozhkov repeated in front of his home. The Ministry of Internal Affairs remained silent about the emergency operation and specified only that they would report the materials to the prosecutor’s office, which also did not comment on the mysterious operation.
“They didn’t find anything, they didn’t take anything. Already in 2020, they took everything out of here. It’s empty. You can go through it with a needle, there’s nothing to pin. They are looking for documents for companies I have nothing to do with. They don’t tell me anything. They create spectacles and psychosis”, announced Bozhkov and called the action “ridiculous”. Then he got into his car and went to the SDVR for questioning, from which he came out after 2 hours with the same information. Uniformed and plainclothes police officers entered and exited the building on Moskovska Street on Friday.
Enlightened for a while, Bozhkov took the opportunity to announce his future political project. Already in 2021, he created “Bulgarian Summer”, but the party failed to enter the parliament, and then did not appear in the elections, because it was included in the “Magnitsky” list together with its leader. Now Bozhkov promises another formula and “Bulgarian Summer” will be part of it. The structure would include people and organizations that do not agree with the country’s governance.
“Soon we will register the political project. I will seek support from the people. I don’t want political parties, but individuals – those who want us to have a country. I am no longer a businessman, I am involved in politics. I returned to Bulgaria to do something for the country. In Dubai, I was untouchable, I could stay there”, announced Bozhkov heroically. And he did not fail to name his enemies on the political field. It turned out to be all parties in parliament, including opposition parties.
From Plovdiv, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov commented only that there is no additional information about the questioning of Vasil Bozhkov and his possible connection with Aleksey Petrov. According to him, there should be more clarity, but the prosecutor’s office should have talked about that.
