- The home team pressed too hard at the start of the final stage, but it lost momentum over time.
How was the game
Cruz-Maltino started overwhelmingly and, in less than 10 minutes of the ball rolling, they already had the advantage of 2 to 0. However, little by little, Galo took possession of the ball and started to put pressure on the opponent. The initiative paid off in the first stage, with a goal in stoppage time.
Driven by the goal, the team from Minas Gerais returned with everything to the second stage and increased the momentum in the confrontation. The warm weather at the Mineirão favored the visitors, as complaints and fouls helped to stop the match and cool down the pace of the rival a little. The changes also helped.
Despite having much more possession of the ball, Alvinegro from Minas Gerais struggled to create great opportunities to draw and ended up being defeated at home.
