/ world today news/ The Greek government has a proposal from the creditors, which it would immediately sign, announced Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis in an interview with the British TV channel “Channel 4”.
However, he added that first the people should decide on the issue in the referendum on Sunday.
“From the moment we announced the referendum, we have received the most interesting proposals from our partners. There are even proposals that I will not hide that we would sign immediately,” Yanis Varoufakis pointed out.
When asked by the journalist if the Greek government currently has a similar proposal, the minister said: “Yes, there is a proposal of this kind in this building, but I will not tell you where”.
As Varoufakis explained, “in order for a specific proposal to take the form of an agreement, the Greek people must strengthen us with their strong “no” to the negotiating position of the creditors”. /TASS
