Yanis Varoufakis, Secretary of MeRA25, sent an open letter to the Prime Minister on the issue of journalists not being allowed to enter Gaza.
In detail, he writes: “For the first time in recent history, a genocide has been going on for more than a year without the slightest journalistic coverage. A people is being pulped and, in the age of information, TikTok, Instagram, etc., emissaries of Western news agencies take up residence in the luxury hotels of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, reproducing what the Israeli services tell them – while the only journalists allowed in Gaza, Palestinian journalists are being murdered en masse.
Given your good personal relationship with the Prime Minister of Israel, I ask you: Are you prepared to formally ask your Israeli counterpart to allow journalists from Greece and, of course, from all over the world to enter Gaza, especially Northern Gaza where is the “Execution-Evict-Settle” policy currently in effect? We are waiting to read the relevant official letter to the Israeli Prime Minister. Otherwise, your complicity in the ongoing genocide will become even more apparent.”
