Various Locations of Recorded Asteroids: Beyond the Asteroid Belt and Trojan Asteroids

Although some recorded asteroids have indeed been cataloged in the torus-shaped region between Mars and Jupiter, this is not the only exclusive location where asteroids have been recorded.

The Trojan asteroid, for example, shares Jupiter’s 11.9-year orbit around the sun, much further away than the asteroid belt.

Asteroids orbiting the sun with other planets are also known, and trojan asteroids have also been found on Earth, Mars, and Neptune.

The Apollo asteroids, for example, are a group of near-Earth asteroids that orbit the sun in the inner solar system – more than 17,500 asteroids have been recorded so far and are one of the main sources of meteorites on Earth.
