TRIBUNGAYO.COM,- Several efforts have been made to prevent TB transmission as reported by the kemkes.go.id website, namely:
- Wear a mask when in crowded places and interact with TB sufferers, and wash your hands.
- Cover your mouth when you sneeze, cough and laugh or use a tissue to cover your mouth. The used tissue is put in a plastic bag and thrown in the trash.
- Do not throw phlegm or spit indiscriminately.
- Make sure the house has good air circulation, for example by frequently opening doors and windows so that fresh air and sunlight can enter.
- Do not sleep in a room with other people, until the doctor says that the tuberculosis you are suffering from is no longer contagious.
- Specifically for TB sufferers using a mask when around people, especially during the first three weeks of treatment, this effort can help reduce the risk of transmission. (*)
