Only one of the ten podiums was not tricolor. The French won in the French Olympic Week in Hyèresa prestigious international regatta, from April 23 to 30, 2022. They won 11 medals including 2 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze.
After the Princess Sofia Trofeo at the beginning of April, Hyères was the second major event on the Olympic calendar. There were gathered 751 competitors from 56 nations. The riders had to face the Mistral at the start of the week.
Two gold medals
Actu.fr highlights the performance ofHelen Noesmoen, Gold medalist in iQFoil (new Olympic windsurfing). The champion Sablaise won 12 races out of the 15 run. “The week started with fairly strong winds with the Mistral, which worked out quite well for me. This weekend was more difficult with less wind but I managed to keep my place on the podium, I’m satisfied.
In iQFoil, the other gold medal (men) was won by Nicolas Goyard.
The five silver medals were won by Lauriane Nolot and Axel Mazela in Kitefoil, Marie Barrue in ILCA 6, the Hippolyte Machetti / Aloïse Retornaz crew in 470 and Clément Bourgeois in iQFoil. Bronze medals by Maxime Nocher in Kitefoil, Louise Cervera in ILCA 6, the Erwan Fisher / Clément Péquin duo in 49er and Delphine Cousin in iQFoil.
Next step for Hélène Noesmoen: the Europe championship, at Lake Garda in Italy on May 17. “It’s going to be in the sequence and I’m going to try to do as well. I feel that the fleet is getting denser enormously. Everything is going fast! Level differences can come and go. »
