It’s a very young and yet highly anticipated festival! For two years, sacred music in all its forms has resonated in the churches of the Var. Fifteen candle-lit concerts, which invite young and old to immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of Christmas. Discover the program…
Sponsored by Stéphane Bern, the Sacred Music festivalIt grows bigger every year. If the flagship event remains the Var festival, it is gradually gaining ground. After a reduced demonstration in Marseille on the occasion of the Mediterranean meetings last September, the Sacred Music festival will invest the cities of Monaco in January, then Lyon, Paris, Marseille or Chartres.
The success of previous editions allows the Sacred Music Festival to attract internationally renowned artists. This year, the musical program is expanding and promises high-quality shows. Among the concerts not to be missed:
- The children’s choir and young ensemble of the Maîtrise de Notre-Dame de Paris : Saturday 25 in Brignoles and Sunday 26 November in Toulon. Accustomed to sacred music concerts, this is the first time that the mastery participates in the festival. The children who make it up are aged 12 to 17 and follow special teaching: 16 hours of lessons per week between singing, music theory, piano… With great professionalism, they will allow us to discover short pieces celebrating Advent and Christmas .
- Le Gospel Philharmonic Experience : Sunday December 3 in Toulon, December 10 in Draguignan and December 16 in Fréjus. The alliance of gospel and classical for a unique experience! Two styles of music combine to create a concert for which aficionados of traditional gospel or classical music meet and discover each other. Festive atmosphere guaranteed.
- The Gesualdo Six : Thursday December 14 in Fréjus. Six men, six friends, six voices, for a choir known throughout the world. If their videos generate millions of views on YouTube, it is certainly because the mixture of voices of these 6 Englishmen invites calm and relaxation, all in a warm atmosphere.

Literally as figuratively, the Sacred Music festival highlights the sacred places of the Var. With its exceptional scenography and the 2,000 candles installed for each concert, churches, cathedrals and basilicas reveal all their beauty. The festival’s unique installations have been created to respect the location and its history. It is therefore a real alchemy that is created and which amazes the public with each edition.
From the outset, the Sacrée Musique festival chose to occupy different locations in the Var. The objective being to attract citizens from all over the territory and to discover or rediscover the sometimes somewhat forgotten heritage.
This year, the concerts will be spread over twelve Var sites : the Saint-Louis church in Toulon, the Saint-Joseph church in Toulon, the Saint-Sauveur church in Brignoles, the Saint-Laurent church in Ollioules, the Saint-Louis church in Hyères, the church of Sacré-Cœur in Toulon, the Notre-Dame de l’Assomption church in Saint-Tropez, the Saint-Michel church in Draguignan, the Pradet church, the Fréjus cathedral, the Notre-Dame de la Victoire basilica in Saint-Raphaël.
See you from November 24 to December 17 for the third edition of the Sacrée Musique festival!
