The International Football Association Board confirms, starting with the upcoming Club World Cup, the decisions of the referees will be explained by “VAR” technology to the fans via loudspeaker.
Today, Wednesday, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) followed up on the recommendations and technical advice provided by football committees last October, and expressed its support for the specific measures to make the game more fair and attractive.
According to the council’s statement, the referees in the next edition of the Club World Cup, which will be held next month in Morocco, will explain via loudspeaker to the fans and followers on television, the decisions that are taken after resorting to the “VAR” video technology.

The direct communications of the referees who make decisions related to the VAR will also be announced via a microphone to the fans, whether in the stadium or via broadcasters.
Morocco, which will witness the implementation of the new mechanism, will host the Club World Cup between 1 and 11 February 2023, and the tournament will be played in the usual system, with the participation of 6 clubs and a representative of the host country.
