/ world today news/ I continue, as before, talking about support not with party leaders, but with the people, said the candidate for mayor of Sofia
Sofians deserve to be given the opportunity to make an informed choice. This was stated by the candidate for mayor of the capital, Vanya Grigorova, on the occasion of her acceptance of the invitation to participate in a debate organized by BNT and bTV on Thursday.
“The results of the first round are already clear, I thank all the fellow citizens who went and voted, she said. – I thank those who chose me from the bottom of my heart. Mr. Terziev and I are going to the runoff. Unfortunately, over half a million Sofians did not have exercised their right to vote in the first round. I think that their choice for the runoff should be informed. That is why I accepted the invitation of the Bulgarian National Television for a debate between me and my opponent on Thursday whole world. I strongly hope that Mr. Terziev will also accept the invitation for a debate. So that the people of Sofia can make a truly informed choice.”
Vanya Grigorova was adamant that until the run-off she would hold support meetings with all Sofia residents, not with the party leaders. She added that she is open to any support, including from right-wing voters who face the same hardships as every ordinary Sofian and do not accept the Assembly.
“The demographics from the exit polls showed that 55% of the people who voted for me are from the BSP circle, all the rest are different people from a “colorful fan” – this means that 45% are people who recognized the ideas that I propose , not the status quo, not the power of money and the power of the market. They said, “Enough!” of the “holy trinity” of profit, money and the market, said Vanya Grigorova. – We are open to any support from formations that believe that now is the time to oppose the current behavior of the government, which neglects democratic rules and grossly violates the laws – from people who consider themselves to be unpunished”.
In connection with the already expressed position of ITN, Vanya Grigorova stated that she accepts any support, but clarified that she has not held talks with any party and that she will not go “to pray at party headquarters”.
According to her, it absolutely does not matter how the voting will be done next Sunday – with machines or on paper. “Technology doesn’t matter, said Grigorova. – Democracy is not a technology of voting, democracy is a clash of ideas and proposals, and citizens choose which way they want their lives to be directed and social relations to be regulated, how to spend more money on health care and education, not for the profits of a small circle of people”.
Buying and selling votes is a crime!
