She talked with them together with the candidates for municipal councilors, Miroljuba Stanoeva and Ivan Kirilov. A place in nurseries and kindergartens for every child is among Grigorova’s key policies and is a priority of the broad left-wing local coalition.
Vanya Grigorova expressed the opinion that more independent crèches are needed. She drew attention to another important aspect related to childcare facilities.
“We continue the fight for nurses to work in nurseries, and not to be replaced by other educational specialists,” because the youngest children need not so much pedagogical, but adequate medical care.
Miroljuba Stanoeva, a candidate for municipal councilor from the left coalition and herself the director of an independent daycare center, spoke against the idea of placing daycare centers and kindergartens on the ground floors of private cooperatives and other unsuitable adapted premises. “They do not have a yard and normal conditions for raising children. Private business wants to take control of this niche and create their corruption schemes” in order to receive guaranteed funds from the childcare facilities located there, she commented. “That’s why we, the people who carry the children in our hearts, are the people who can oppose such decisions and I believe that Vanya Grigorova will give the citizens expert management by consulting us”, declared Miroljuba Stanoeva in her capacity of nursery school director, trade unionist and specialist with many years of experience.
“Behind the clichés such as “repair of repair”, “concession contracts” is the draining of the municipal budget, said Vanya Grigorova – This wrongly spent money can be used to increase wages and improve the material base in community centers, schools, nurseries, kindergartens gardens and where else. We are in serious need of additional financing of key public activities”. Grigorova concluded that “the capital budget should work in the interest of the citizens, and the voice of the unheard should be heard.”
At the meeting, the issue was also raised that Sofia currently lacks the necessary homes for children with disabilities, for the elderly, and day care centers for children on the autistic spectrum, where they can receive adequate care from medical specialists.
Vanya Grigorova recalled that as a trade unionist she was part of the National Council for the Disabled and one of the acute problems was the lack of an accessible environment in Sofia.
She pointed to the extremely vicious practice of investors preferring to pay a fine instead of fulfilling the mandatory condition in the construction of public and public buildings to build a ramp and an accessible environment for citizens with disabilities. “There is no accessible environment and people with disabilities are practically hostages in their homes”, emphasized Vanya Grigorova and declared for measures against these practices.

Earlier, she, the chairman of BSP – Sofia and candidate for municipal councilor Ivan Takov and the deputy chairman of BSP – Sofia and candidate for municipal councilor Ivan Peshev met with representatives of the Bulgarian Entrepreneurial Association BESCO – a non-governmental organization that connects startups, investors , government, institutions and other stakeholders related to innovation.

Vanya Grigorova discussed with the representatives of the organization possibilities for future cooperation within the framework of municipal activities and implementation of support for students and schools that do not have modern STEM centers.
