Karel Janák, the director of the Christmas film ”Klíč svatého Petra” (The Key of St. Peter), has already made ten Christmas fairy tales in the past sixteen years. His latest film, which was filmed at Zvíkov Castle, Sychrov Castle, and the Slavonice monument reserve, features Filip Březina, Berenika Kohoutová, Sabina Remundová, David Novotný, Lukáš Příkazký, and Petr Nárožný.
“The story requires the characters to behave differently than their nature dictates. St. Peter has to open the gates of heaven with a hairpin, the main character sings to people that they should be honest, but he himself ends up teaming up with a thief and a fraudster. The water sprite doesn’t drown anyone and would leave his underwater kingdom for love,” explains the director.
On Christmas Day, Czech Television will broadcast the co-production fairy tale “Tři zlaté dukáty” (Three Golden Ducats), which viewers can watch with Czech or Slovak dubbing.
