The repertoire of this ensemble is mainly composed of original compositions and arrangements of Latin American and southwestern Mexican themes. The name of this group refers to the book “History of the Indies of New Spain and the Islands of the Tierra Firme”, written by Diego Durán in 1537, and which testifies to the religious and socioeconomic organization of ancient Mexico.
