Vanguard teased with a sniper shot and a ‘good boy’

A new teaser for Call of Duty: Vanguard appears to have crept into Warzone. GameSpot noted that a new cutscene has been added at the end of Warzone matches, featuring a new character who can hint at Vanguard’s story.

Warzone matches usually end with a team evacuating from Verdansk via helicopter, after which they fly away. YouTube user OHB The Don posted a video showing the normal evacuation, but this time the last player to be raised up the rope is shot in the head. Next, we see a woman in a 1940s Russian military uniform with a smoking gun.

That’s not all, the teaser was also shared by Call of Duty: Vanguard employee Sam Maggs, who responded with “good girl,” which gives the story a little more credibility.

Previous Leaks About Call of Duty: Vanguard point to a WWII setting, at least partly on the Western Front, and possibly in an alternate universe where the war didn’t end in 1945.

Some fans have theories about the woman in the teaser being inspired by Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a notorious Russian sniper with 309 confirmed kills.

Activision hasn’t commented on the teaser yet, but we expect more about the new Call of Duty soon as it often releases during the holiday season. Activision faces an indictment about sexual harassment and misogynistics. Three senior developers were fired from Blizzard this week, including Diablo 4 director Luis Barriga, lead level designer Jesse McCree, and World of Warcraft designer Jonathan LeCraft.
