India’s fast train, the Vande Bharat Express, once experienced an incident. The Vande Bharat Express hit a cow resulting in the death of one person.
As reported by detikINET from Zee News India, this incident occurred on the Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer train route in April 2023. In detail, the Vande Bharat Express was speeding and hit a cow on the train line.
Near the cow, there was a man who died as a result of being crushed by a cow that was hit by the Vande Bharat Express. This incident occurred at around 08.30 local time.
The victim, Shivdayal Sharma, was a retired electrical officer who previously worked for the Indian railway company, Indian Railways.
As a result of the incident, the cow hit by the Vande Bharat Express was thrown about 30 meters up before finally falling on Shivdayal. This is what caused Shivdayal to die as a result of being crushed by a heavy cow.
In an effort to avoid similar incidents, the train company that manages the Vande Bharat Express, Western Railway, will install fences along the train line on the Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer route. This effort is aimed at ensuring that no livestock are on the train track.
Previously, the Vande Bharat Express had also hit livestock, causing the death of livestock and damage to the train. The worst accident ever experienced by the Vande Bharat Express also occurred on the Mumbai-Gandhinagar railway line.
