The measure is not unanimous, that’s for sure. On July 1, 2023, parking near the Anglet beaches became chargeable for non-Angloys. A way for the City to transfer users to other means of transport (bus, bicycle) while making them participate financially in the budget placed in the surveillance and maintenance of the beaches.
Ten of the new parking meters, intended to control the duration of vehicle parking, have been vandalized since their installation. The City of Anglet, which will replace them shortly, is not overly worried. Similar cases have been observed in other municipalities when introducing paid parking.
