During the night of March 4th, 2023, unknown persons caused property damage of more than 25,000 euros on the grounds of a primary school in Ostpreußenring. Around 1:30 a.m. local residents could hear a loud explosion in the Kreideberg district. Unidentified vandals had detonated a smaller helium gas cylinder on an outside wall of the school building in an inner courtyard. The wall as well as five windows and a double wing door were partially severely damaged by the pressure wave. Investigators are currently assuming vandalism as the motive for the crime. There is no evidence of a politically motivated crime. As part of the search, the police were able to check individual people in the vicinity of the crime during the night. Further investigations continue.
