Vanced: Popular YouTube app is being retired

This should be shocking news for users. The developers of the Vanced app have announced that they will stop developing the app. In the coming days the download links will be removed. The Discord server will remain in place until further notice.

They say that of course they know it’s something users don’t want to hear, but they have to do it. They didn’t want to go into any more detail. It is therefore unknown whether YouTube’s attempts to take action against Vanced have now been successful. But one can certainly assume that it will.

Among other things, Vanced blocked advertising from YouTube and ensured the background playback of audio content – without the user having to have a YouTube premium subscription for this.
