Van Persie refuses to join Ten Hag at Manchester United because…

Rotterdam

Ex striker top Robin van Persie must reject the merger offer Erik ten Hag from Manchester United. Van Persie’s reasons have to do with his family commitments.

Van Persie spent three seasons with Manchester United and won the Premier League title once. After retiring the former Arsenal bomber worked at Feyenoord as a finishing coach for the first team as well as head coach of the under-16 team after retiring.

Ten Hag then considered Van Persie as part of his staff after agreeing a three-year contract at Old Trafford. However, the offer was rejected by Van Persie because his son, Shaqueel, was studying football at the Feyenoord academy while Dina was pursuing a hobby of horse riding.

After failing to convince Robin van PersieErik ten Hag then appointed Steve McClaren and Mitchell van der Gaag as his assistants last month.

“My son and daughter are important right now,” the former Netherlands international striker told Majalah Life After Football. “The fact they’ve both found their passion is great. A hobby is fun, but you expect them to actually find a passion.”

“Dina is successful at riding, she really likes it and Shaqueel has that in common with football. My wife, Bouchra, is developing her talent with our plans and that’s great to see. We’re enjoying ourselves together.”

“In London, when I played for Arsenal, we moved house five times. We also lived in Manchester and Istanbul. Overall, we were away from home for almost 14 years.”

“But then, we thought ‘what’s good for kids now?’ and feeling a little stability would be nice.” Van Persie added the question of the reason for refusing the offer Erik ten Hag from Manchester United.
