VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Two people were seriously injured when a Mercedes-Benz they were traveling in crashed into a possibly racing Rolls-Royce in Van Nuys, authorities said Saturday.
The Mercedes-Benz GT63 and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan were traveling at a high rate of speed west on Sherman Way around 9:50pm on Friday when the Mercedes hit the right side of an eastbound Honda Civic that was attempting to to turn left into a parking lot building on Sherman Circle, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The two occupants of the Honda were seriously injured.
The Rolls swerved to the left to avoid hitting the Honda and entered the oncoming lane, where it collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Traverse before colliding it bends. The driver of the Rolls left the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction, according to the police.
The driver of the Mercedes complained of pain and was taken to hospital. He was later arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, according to police.
