Van Haga starts own party: BV NL | Inland

Since his split from Forum for Democracy, Van Haga has been in a non-party group in the House of Representatives together with Olaf Ephraim and Hans Smolders.

Earlier he indicated that he wanted to start a new party on the right. Data from the Chamber of Commerce shows that he is ready. Under the banner BV NL he wants to continue in politics.

Van Haga closed the door behind him at FvD on Ascension Day. The immediate reason for this was the comparison made by FvD party leader Thierry Baudet between the corona measures and the occupation during the Second World War.

It has been chafing between Van Haga and Baudet for some time. In the group, corona measures were ignored, something that did not sit well with Van Haga and his supporters.

Van Haga started out in the House of Representatives as a VVD member. He was shown the door there in 2019. The faction demanded his departure because, despite previous warnings, he did not adhere to integrity agreements about separating his work for the VVD and his work as a real estate landlord of the company Sjopperdepop.

Van Haga decided to resign and shortly afterwards joined FvD. In the end it didn’t work out there either.

He is now trying again with his own party. Earlier he said about this: “You see that the VVD has become a left-wing party and that the PVV, Forum for Democracy, JA21 and the SGP are in the conservative corner.” According to him, there is room in between for a party that is more right-wing than the VVD, but less conservative than the other right-wing parties.
