Van Gogh Museum Removes Pikachu Card Due to Safety Concerns

Good job, resellers. They did it! Due to safety concerns, Pokémon fans will no longer be able to receive the special edition Pikachu card that was initially provided with admission to the Van Gogh Museum.

It wasn’t long after a video of grown men raided the van Gogh museum gift shop in Amsterdam. The clip went viral showing how crazy resellers can be.

Unfortunately, this has raised safety concerns for regular museum visitors, and now one of the cool extras has been removed from admission tickets.

For those who purchased a ticket to the museum, a little extra was included in your admission. An incredibly cool Pikachu Pokémon card in van Gogh style, with him wearing a cute gray hat.

Now, the unique Pokémon card has been removed from the museum entirely, due to resellers and resellers being too aggressive, raising safety concerns for others.

In an update, the museum wrote in the FAQ for the exhibition:

The Van Gogh Museum and The Pokémon Company International take the safety of visitors and staff very seriously. Recently, a small group of individuals has created an undesirable situation that has led us to make the difficult decision to remove the promotional card of Pikachu with a gray hat from the museum.

TLDR: Because some people couldn’t control themselves and decided to act like little children, the card will not be available at the museum again.

Look at these immature adults…

So now, those who want to get their hands on this unique Pokémon card will have to get it from the Pokémon Center’s online store once it becomes available for purchase there. They also explained that in early 2024, the cards can be reintroduced at participating retailers in the Netherlands.

This is a pretty sad situation, but for the safety of those who just want to enjoy the museum, it’s probably for the best, right? But it’s sad to see how a small minority of annoying people ruined something fun for everyone, right?
