Van Gandhi began his NBA coaching career in 1995 as an assistant to the Miami Heat. He worked in this position until 2003, but then received a promotion to become head coach.
His partnership with the Miami unit ended in 2005, but after a two-year hiatus in 2007, he began training for the Orlando Magic, where he served until 2012. This was followed by another two-year hiatus and a trip to the Detroit Pistons.
Van Gandhi will now have a task squeeze the maximum from the talented “Pelicans” team, which includes such basketball players as Lonzo Bols, Brandon Ingrams, Zion Williamson and others.
