Louis van Gaal is mentioned as a possible new national coach of Chili. According to union chairman Jorge Yungue of the South American country, the Dutch trainer has been offered to him.
Chile is about to say goodbye to Reinaldo Rueda, who can take the national team in his native Colombia under his wing. The names of José Pekerman, Gabriel Heinze and Felipe Scolari are possible successors, but Van Gaal would also be in the race. “A representative called me to offer him. I have now received his resume,” Yungue told Chilean La Tercera about 69-year-old Van Gaal.
It remains to be seen whether the former national coach of Orange and former coach of Ajax, AZ, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United will actually start working in Chile. He has indicated several times that he is retired. After the departure of Ronald Koeman to Barça, Van Gaal announced that he would think seriously if he was approached for the Orange. However, the choice fell on Frank de Boer.
