dutch coach, Louis Van Gaaldo not recommend Erik ten Hag to refine Manchester United. That’s because MU is a commercial club.
Van Gaal was Man United coach from 2014 to 2016. He was able to win the FA Cup in the 2015/2016 season, but was sacked afterwards with one year remaining on his contract.
As a person who has coached Manchester United, Van Gaal was then asked about rumors that Ten Hag was being targeted by the Red Devils. The 70-year-old did not suggest Ten Hag to Old Trafford.
Van Gaal argued that Man United was a commercial club. He hopes that if Ten Hag leaves Ajax it is better to go to a club that does not prioritize profits and is willing to be patient with the process.
“Erik Ten Hag is a great coach and that’s always good for Manchester United,” Van Gaal told a news conference ahead of Holland’s friendly against Germany, according to RTE.
“But Manchester United is a commercial club, so it’s a difficult choice for a coach. He’d better go to a football club.”
“I will not advise him, he will call me himself. But he must choose a football club and not a commercial club.”
Man United is currently being coached by Ralf Rangnick, who arrived as a starter after the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Together with the man from Germany, MU confirmed to close this season without a title.
