Gregory van der Wiel has not yet reported to the club at RKC Waalwijk. Trainer Fred Grim indicates defender takes longer than expected to regain level.
“Gregory is not at the club at the moment. He has done everything he can to be able to be there quickly,” says Grim in conversation with FOX Sports. “That has not yet worked out. We are hopeful that it will work out, but it will take a little longer.”
Grim does not want to mention the reason for the absence of Van der Wiel. “He’s not at the club at the moment … I can’t really say anything about that. Then you already know the answer, so to speak.” The trainer thus feeds the rumors that Van der Wiel would be infected with the corona virus.
RKC will take on Heracles Almelo on Saturday evening. At Erve Asito, the club from Waalwijk has to get the first points of this season. So they still do without Van der Wiel.
