Edwin van der Sar thinks that he and football as a whole should speak louder against racism. He says that in the Sunday evening broadcast of NOS Studio Sport.
“A lot is happening,” Van der Sar refers to the massive protests against racism. “I have the feeling that I have to make myself heard louder than in the past. You see the protests in Amsterdam, but especially in America. It falls in an unfortunate time because of corona, but I think people should get up more. Then I also look at myself, my own club and my own position. “
Van der Sar participated as general manager of Ajax in #blackouttuesday. He hoped to do something with that. “As a sport we have to set the example. And let’s see what we can do in the coming months if we can play football again (September, ed.). You don’t want to see any form of racism, of course. The necessity is now by taking it. “
Ajax director Edwin van der Sar also participated in #BlackOutTuesday.
“I feel like you should be louder against racism than in the past.”
