Anthony van den Hurk was missing from Helsingborg’s match squad for yesterday’s meeting with Häcken. After the match, Alvaro Santos explained HD that it was because the attacker did not feel motivated.
– Anthony came to us with the message that he did not feel motivated and that he did not want to play, the HIF coach told HD.
Now van den Hurk’s agent, Matthew Rusike, is speaking out SportExpressen and says that Antony van den Hurk regrets his behavior.
– Anthony regrets it, he apologizes. He has a contract with the club and he must respect that. He is aware that this was not the right time for such a situation. It was not a good situation and he is sorry for that. Then I would like to point out that Anthony has not missed any training as it has been in the media and we have not asked him to do so either.
The agent also says they will discuss the striker’s future with Helsingborg in the coming days.
– There is a lot of interest in Anthony, but Helsingborg has every right to keep him until the end of the contract. That said, Anthony has to honor his contract and he will if we don’t find a solution.
The soccer channel has searched for Helsingborg’s sporting director Andreas Granqvist and head coach Mattias Lindström without success.
