Andhra Pradesh’s Vamshi Krishna smashed Railways spinner Damandeep Singh for 6 sixes in an over in the Colonel CK Naidu Trophy held at Kadapa. Vamshi’s performance was reminiscent of Yuvraj’s legendary six sixes. Krishna scored 110 off 64 balls with 10 sixes and 9 fours in Andhra’s first innings on Sunday.
Krishna hit a six off the first ball with a beautiful slow sweep. The second and third balls successively crossed the boundary over the bowler’s head. The 4th ball hit the gallery lightly and the 5th ball was bowled over the deep square leg boundary. Krishna played the last ball on the back foot and drove it over mid-wicket.

Andhra scored 378 runs in the first innings thanks to Vamshi Krishna. But on the strength of Ansh Yadav and Ravi Singh’s double century, Railways rushed towards a huge score. Railways scored 865 runs in the first innings. Anchit Yadav also scored a century.
In the Indian domestic circuit, this feat reminded fans of former India coach Ravi Shastri’s brilliant performance in a 1985 Ranji Trophy match against Baroda. Shastri, who scored a century, and part-time spinner Thilak Raj hit six sixes. Ruturaj Gaekwad’s record of 7 sixes in an over in Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final in 2022 is yet to be surpassed.
