I’m also curious. It seems that Hardsuit Labs has gone too fast, and that publisher Paradox has gone along with it.

Hardsuit Labs did the original pitch for this game towards Paradox, which had just bought the intellectual property. That pitch was apparently very good, and the original writer got involved so Paradox went ahead with the project. There was great enthusiasm at Hardsuit Labs, but since things have not gone well now, they may have lacked expertise, or it is another old conflict between developer and publisher about the chosen direction or something.

Now we have to wait and see if Hardsuit Labs has built enough that it can be turned into a good game by another studio. Then a release in 2022 is quite possible. If what it says is really too weak, the new team may need several years.

Anyway, all this is better than releasing a mediocre or problematic Bloodlines game; glad they keep working on it. Hopefully a detailed post mortem will follow.
