Vampire Survivor swaps engines. It is interpreted to be for reducing lag, which was considered a classic problem with the addition of cooperative mode.
Vampire Survivor revealed the update schedule through Steam on the 12th. A co-op mode that can be played by up to 4 players will be released on August 17, and the game engine will be replaced with Unity accordingly.
Vampire Survivor Cooperative Mode, which was released last June, is a feature that allows up to four players to enjoy the game together in one game. Many players welcomed the fact that they could play a game that was only available for single players with friends.
In addition, the game engine will be changed from Phaser to Unity. In Vampire Survivor, the number of enemies and projectiles increased in the second half of the game caused lag, and there were many concerns that the lag would get worse if a 4-player cooperative mode was added in this state.

Replacing the engine is a way to address these lag and slowness issues. The beta test of the replaced engine version is currently in progress, and as a result of actual play, it was confirmed that the lag in the second half was reduced compared to before, although the operation feeling and graphics remained the same. Developer Poncle said that they are improving stability through the testing process.
In addition, new cooperative items and environment setting information were revealed. As a cooperative-only item, a ‘friend necklace’ will be added that randomly strengthens the weapons of colleagues and their own, and various options such as adjusting the color of friend IDs when playing cooperatively will be added.
