It is a masterful work of street-art that the artist Bénédicte Lanfrey has just produced at Poulfanc, in Séné, near Vannes (Morbihan)! She reinterpreted a Bayeux tapestry originally measuring 13.5 x 0.50 m. The theme ? The Battle of Hastings in 1066, opposing the Normans of William the Conqueror to the English. “200 horses and warriors, 40 boats, Halley’s Comet… It’s all there. In order. All in gold on a linen background,” she describes on her Instagram account.
Twelve hours spent at the foot of the wall
Will this monumental creation really be the artist’s last, as she seems to announce on social networks? “I loved painting horses. It took me four hours of preparation to make the model and twelve hours to create on site. It’s good for a last wall! »
Bénédicte Lanfrey told us, in June 2021, that she would definitely put away brushes and spray cans after her hundredth creation. A few months ago, Bénédicte Lanfrey had a lot of people talking about her, after having painted, in the tunnel of the Palais des arts, a mysterious message (“Sell alliance gold yellow state new”), accompanied by his telephone number.
